Kanata Festival on Turtle Island

Vancouver Native Housing Society invites you to the Kanata Festival, a 13 day festival running from June 19-July 1st.

Kanata is an indigenous cultural festival featuring food, music, art, workshops, and performances.

It takes place on the traditional unceded territory of the Coast Salish people, in Larwill Park, bounded by Cambie & Beatty streets and Georgia and Dunsmuir streets in downtown Vancouver, BC.

The festival site features a number of iconic traditional housing forms (teepees, longhouses, wikiups, etc) that serve as spaces for traditional and contemporary performances, workshops, film screenings, indigenous music, food, cultural activities and events.

The Kanata Festival is family friendly.

Opening Day Schedule:
Drum for Housing:  11 a.m.
Opening Ceremonies: 1 p.m.
Grand entry to festival will follow the official opening.
Festival 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
