2010 was a good year for Streetohome, full of change and progress. We welcomed new staff and new Board members, moved offices, obtained charitable status, created a plan to guide us, and have been building partnerships that will have a lasting and positive impact for our city.
We’re proud to be working with a wide range of dedicated caring individuals and organizations. From government through to the faith community, there’s a genuine groundswell and focus on seeing an end to homelessness for this city.
In 2010, our ‘Housing First’ priority helped give homes to more than 100 people. Our prevention efforts kept another 29 from losing their homes. And our investment in new housing will see more than 900 new units ready by 2013.
Streetohome continued to make great progress with our partners in the City of Vancouver, the Province of Vancouver, and the Vancouver Foundation, and while undergoing much transition. We want to recognize and thank Barbara Grantham, interim President of Streetohome Foundation, for her great stewardship through our time of change.
We’ve been constantly growing and learning through our involvement with other groups like the BC Non-Profit Housing Association, the Vancouver Board of Trade, the Downtown Vancouver Association, the Homeless Intervention Project, and the Interfaith Alliance.
Our success is the community’s success. With the ongoing support of our donors, partners, Board and volunteers, Streetohome Foundation is ready for the challenges and achievements ahead in 2011.
