Streetohome is working with families to break the cycle of homelessness in this building dedicated to the needs of women and children. In partnership with RainCity Housing and Support Society, the Province of BC and the City of Vancouver, Streetohome has committed $20 million to develop eight city sites, including this 147 unit project, which has 41 suites set aside for women with children, and 105 for single women.

To help address family issues, which may include mental health concerns or substance abuse, RainCity Housing and Support Society will offer a variety of programs to build community and partnerships for tenants such as childcare and support services, medical and mental health services; peer-based programs; community kitchen and family nights; and a Parent Resource Centre.

Construction began in November 2012 and is expected to be complete in February 2015.

Streetohome’s contribution to this project is made possible in part because of the generosity of Silver Wheaton ($1.5 million), Canucks for Kids Fund, and Face the World Foundation ($500,000).
