Streetohome has joined the Mental Health Commission of Canada and a number of other community partners to spearhead a research project that will explore supportive housing for 100 homeless people with mental health challenges. This project will not only provide housing but also the support services necessary to help them stabilize, improve their health and help them succeed in maintaining housing. The type and level of support services planned are consistent with best-practices that have proven successful in other cities. Streetohome has committed $860,000 to help fund the project and is looking forward to learning about the type and levels of supports that would be most effective for these individuals in order to be able to better provide for these members of our community.
